A reinforcing nozzle flange is a type of nozzle flange used in pressure vessels, characterized by its integral forging of the flange and reinforcement tube. It offers advantages such as structural optimization, rational stress distribution, and excellent fatigue resistance.

The reinforcement nozzle is manufactured as a single forged component, integrating the nozzle and a portion of the shell with the reinforcing section, and is subsequently welded to the shell and the nozzle. By concentrating the reinforcing metal in the region of maximum stress around the opening, this design most effectively reduces the stress concentration factor. A butt weld may be employed, with the weld and its heat-affected zone positioned away from the location of maximum stress, resulting in excellent fatigue resistance.
